Two Boroughs Larder celebrates their first year

Posted by Susan Cohen on Thu, Aug 2, 2012 at 3:21 PM

Not long after Two Boroughs Larder opened on Coming Street last summer, five City Paper employees accidentally bumped into each other during lunchtime at the bright new Cannonborough-Elliotborough spot. All of us were eager to try out this bright young thing — run by husband-and-wife team Heather and Josh Keeler — with a local product focus.

The restaurant was still settling in to the space and the menu back then, but in the year since the small eatery has become a huge player in the culinary scene, particularly as it won over the foodie blogosphere during the Charleston Wine + Food Festival season. Now it seems like you can't go more than a few days without a Bowl-O-Noodle pic popping up on your Instagram feed, and their "larder" shelves are now stocked with high-quality food and kitchen products, as well as stickers and koozies of Two Borough's puppy dog mascot.

In honor of their first anniversary, the Keelers have created an expanded happy hour menu (available from 1-7 p.m.). Small bites, beer and wine, and even special TBL loot will be for sale at $1, $3, $5, and $7 price points.

And just like an ostentatious 20-something-year-old, they're making their birthday into a multi-day celebration, serving the menu through Saturday.
