If we learned anything from Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, it’s that chocolate isn’t just candy. That’s true especially for Christophe and Carly Paume, who are moving their chocolate store from King Street to 90 Society St. to expand their horizons.

The new location of Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Pâtissier will now offer French press coffee, more pastries, and starting in January they’ll have grab-and-go lunches made to order. “It’s more of a sit-down, come-in-and-relax environment than it was on King Street,” co-owner Carly Paume says.

They’ll still be offering Christophe’s hand-painted chocolates and handmade truffles, but Carly says they want to do more with their breads and pastries for breakfast and lunch options. The larger space will allow them to host workshops for those who want to learn the craft of chocolatiering themselves. They even have intentions of serving beer and wine in the new store, which they hope will be on the menu by the end of next year.
