Nomadic Daily Dose sets up camp on Johns Island

Hot Cowgirls, Muthaships, and Grandaddy's Fatty

You remember the Daily Dose, everybody's favorite spot for Hot Cowgirls? After nine months of hard work, it reopened this week out on Johns Island near Kiawah.

Duffy "Mama D" Ingle tells us she's got all the same goodness plus lots of new items. The website description reads like hippie haiku:

The Daily Dose
Get Your Good Mood Food On
Always Local, Organic, and Natural When Available
Seafood Caught in the Wild
Huge Healthy Eats and Vegan Treats

The menu is filled with hilariously named items like Grandaddy's Fatty (pimento cheese with roasted red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and greens — $9) and the Muthaship, which is described thusly: "ridiculously huge portion. Enough to feed two with four pounds of goodness! Black beans, brown rice, corn, salsa, jalapeños, spicy sour cream, tomatoes, three cheeses, sprouts, guacamole, and fresh greens with spicy Fire Dragon sauce." That beast is $12.

They also have floats, milkshakes, all-natural sodas, and chai. The health nuts out there will be glad to hear that she'll be adding a full juice menu soon.

If you've missed the Dose since it closed up shop on James Island, you better head out to Johns Island soon and say hi to Mama D. She'll be very happy to see you.
