New Restaurants In the Works on Folly Beach

Posted by Stephanie Barna on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 1:30 PM

Lots of changes going on out at Folly Beach.

Chip Roberts from the Kickin’ Chicken tells us that he and his business partners are teaming up with John Davis for a couple of new restaurant concepts on Center Street.

In the old Terrapin Cafe space they’ll open Rita’s, which will serve burgers, fresh salads, and other easy beach fare.

Across the street in the Conch space, they’ll be working with Reggie Gibson Architects to exorcise the previous tenant’s bad mojo and open Center Street Kitchen, a diner-style restaurant that will have a small menu that focuses on comfort food.

They haven’t finalized a concept or name for the second floor bar, but they will have a great back patio with couches and a casual, family-friendly vibe.

Roberts says they're hiring a chef this week and will announce it as soon as it's finalized.
