Sometimes we forgot just how much else there is out there. We get caught up in our everyday lives and worry more about if we have coffee at home than the expansiveness of the universe. But that just got really heavy, really quickly. Let's take it down a notch and plan out our weekend, which is going to start at the College of Charleston's Observatory.
The College opens up its Observatory to stargazers for free on Fri. Jan. 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. Astronomers will be there to assist and answer questions while you catch glimpses of Jupiter, Orion, Taurus, Gemini, and more. You may even get that philosophical reminder of how large the universe is.
To get your gaze on, head to the Observatory by entering the Rita Liddy Hollings Science Center (58 Coming St.) and check-in with the students volunteering. Open-toed shoes are not allowed on the observation deck, but that shouldn't be a problem because it's January.
