One of the most important elements of the Collaborative experience is the chance to participate in a student art exhibition. Williams is currently accepting submissions of three to five pieces of artwork from middle and high schoolers who want to participate in an exhibition to be held at Robert Lange Studios in January 2014.
Applicants must be students who are currently or will be participating in the Collaborative. The deadline is Nov. 9, and submissions should be sent by email with the student's name, followed by "Student Submission" in the subject line.
Local, award-winning artist Charles Williams, who grew up in Georgetown and currently works out of a studio at Redux, is also the founder of the C.E. Williams Collaborative, an art program for talented young people who want to become professional artists. Students in the Collaborative take twice-monthly lessons on both technique and the business of
being an artist, with the ultimate goal being to help those students prepare for college art studies and applying for portfolio scholarships.
