TEDxCharleston (formerly known as TEDxMarionSquare) has opened the application process for audience members for the May 15 event. Having to fill out an application just to watch may seem excessive, but the organizers assure us there's a method to the madness. In a press release, Edith Howle and Kira Perdue say that the method is used to ensure that the audience is a balanced mix of the Charleston community, "ensuring a diverse audience that can facilitate new ideas and synergies with each other."

To apply for a seat, check out tedxcharleston.com/attend.
