We’re super excited about the Pecha Kucha 15 speaker list, and it’s not just because one of City Paper’s staffers is on the docket — the whole lineup looks pretty solid.
Scheduled for Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at a yet-to-be-disclosed location, the lecture series/happy hour/show-and-tell features eight speakers who will each get six minutes and 40 seconds to tell everyone why they’re special. Actually, this time around there will be 11 speakers, because a few people are teaming up for the effort.
There’s Paul Roof of the Holy City Beard & Moustache Society, Heather Koonse of the Charleston Garment Manufactory, and Nate Justiss, Lindsay Windham, and Adam Printz of Distil Union. Then there’s Buff Ross of Alloneword Design, artist/animator Dave Brown, Clemson Architecture program manager/teacher David Pastre, and Circa 1886 Chef Marc Collins. Last but not least, City Paper staff writer Susan Cohen is teaming up with Skirt! magazine’s editor Margaret Pilarski to talk about their Southeast Zine Fest.
Tickets will go on sale next Tues. Oct. 2 at 6 p.m., and they will sell out, probably ridiculously quickly. Find out more about each of the presenters at charlestonparliament.com/blog.
