Besides being a small business incubator, the Charleston Digital Corridor has played host to some impressive art exhibits in their Flagship Gallery.
Next up is a show by Deborah Sisco, hosted by the Art Pimp Creative Consultants (a.k.a Charleston Art Mag's Olivia Pool and Stacy Huggins). The local artist will display her newest oil paintings, which were influenced by the music she was listening to at the time of creation.
A College of Charleston grad, Sisco is influenced by abstract expressionists like Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning, and Motherwell. "I am not trying to go where no one has gone before," she says on her website. "I simply enjoy the color, the compositions and hope that each person can find their own meaning in each painting and that it adds a little bit of enjoyment to each person that sees or buys my art."
The show opens Thurs. June 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Its free and will include refreshments and, not surprisingly, music. See more of Sisco's work at deborahsiscoart.com, or visit charlestonflagship.com.
