The Charleston Fire Department is bringing their best slap-shot to the North Charleston Coliseum this Sunday in a grueling showdown against the visiting ice hockey team of the New York Fire Department. The game will take place after the Stingray's home game, and should be a rowdy time. There is sure to be a lot of smack-talking, shoving, and heavy checking.
To celebrate the visiting rivalry, there will be a pre-game party with both teams at O'Malley's on Sat. March 21 night at 4 p.m. Festivities will include an oyster and pig roast, buffet, and plenty of beer. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
As for the hockey game itself, $10 will get you into the Stingray's game on Sun. March 22 at 7 p.m. and the CFD vs. FDNY game following. All proceeds will go toward both organizations and the Carolina Children's Charity. —Hadley Lyman
